About us

We enjoy what we do and have the most perfect venue for everyone! Situated in the village of Markfield, on the main A50 road, is our delightful, family run, village pub and dining venue. On the door step of the infamous ‘Bradgate park’,

The Coach is very much a traditional village house, with a modern, and unique layout and décor. This combination of new and quirky, with a relaxed, warm and friendly atmosphere, coupled with our passion for quality, homemade food makes the Coach the perfect choice.

The Coach & Horses, Markfield main dining room has it all going on… You can watch the team of chefs prepare and cook your food, it’s a theatre opportunity not to be missed! And forget Gordon Ramsey, our chefs are happy to oblige with special requests and will happily chat to you (when time allows!)

Our drinks range is a wide selection of craft beers, real ales, premium lager’s, amazing wines to compliment the menu, and a unique spirit selection. Our soft drink range is pretty special too, with Frobisher’s, Cawston Press and fever tree just to Name a few!.

Booked for Saturday early evening. Place was buzzing when we arrived. Looked like restaurant has had bit of revamp, looked very smart. Bit cool temperature though. Food was good pub standard, adequate choice of beers and selection of non/low alcohol drinks.

Food and service was excellent. Friendly staff. Only one down side there was 2 different songs playing. One in the bar one in the restaurant. We sat in a place where you could hear both. Only a small point. Would recommend

Called in here a couple of times lately without booking and quite late for food ordering. But we were greeted with friendly staff who were very polite and helpful. Being vegan I love the choice here, plenty of choice and not all of it spicy (I don't like spicy food). The resturant manager was well informed on the vegan options and the food was lovely including plenty of hot gravy for my sausage and mash, which had to be made as they hadn't got any vegan mash ready. A good choice of meals which didn't all come with the usual chips as most places do these days. Would highly recommend this place.

Me and my partner went here on a Thursday evening it was quiet which was nice for me as I do lack confidence in going out for a meal. We booked online which was easy. The drinks we asked for arrived quick but not how we asked for them as I got a different tonic to what I asked and my partner got a bottle of full fat coke rather than diet coke and in a glass bottle instead of just a glass. We asked to move tables as we were placed on the end next to the waitresses desk/till and there were 2-3 girls just standing around waiting for orders etc and this made me feel uncomfortable as I felt as I was being watched and in the way of their privately conversation. Another waitress was back and forth helping us move tables and made sure we are comfortable The food was tasty, warm and served quick. They had a variety of starters, mains, deserts, drinks, children's, vegan and vegetarian options. They also have offers on during the week which I have attached for you. Toilets are available. I would say wheelchair and pushchair accessible however the floor levels change and feel on an angle. Outside seating available. Parking outside

It’s a warm welcoming pub in an easy to get to location, with free off road parking which including disabled parking spaces. Decoration is a mixture of traditional and modern, with outside sittings, different parts of the pub give different atmosphere, great place to get together for any occasions. Half way the pub has steps which has warning stickers and labels but still find it a little dangerous with holding drinks and with children and /or elderly, but there are plenty tablets and seats before u get to the steps areas. Toilets are upstairs, not sure if any disabled toilet(s) downstairs?? Good and drink menus are decent, big plates and yummy food, have abit of everything for everyone including vegan menu, as I’m not a vegan, so can’t comment on the menu and food. Very little staff on the night we went (Tuesday) the waitress was really friendly, polite helpful and good 👍🏻 cared for all our needs. Pub these days closes quite early, we were told 2130, but we stayed until 2200 as it was quite a big get together night out. One of the most important things is it’s a dog friendly pub, has water bowls and biscuits for dogs. Overall, it’s a lovely pub 👍🏻
