Went to the Friday evening karaoke hosted by the lovely Ashley with my wife.Ashley had the set up spot on and not being from Barnard Castle we were welcomed by the locals.Pleasant staff and in general a good experience.We will see you again Brian&Barbara xxx
The four of us stopped here hungry & ready for lunch. We soon decided what we wanted - 4 Roast Beef dinners & placed our orders. Unfortunately the meals weren't brought out together & we had no choice but to begin our meals without our friends having their meals. After 5-10 mins, the other couple asked the bar staff where their meals were & shortly afterwards they appeared as we were just finishing ours. We didn't find why there was a delay, certainly there wasn't many people eating from what we saw. However I must say how very tasty the meals were with extra gravy.
2 night stay, clean and comfortable room with the facilities you'd expect. Beer garden. Friendly local pointed out free parking areas outside/opposite pub. Aware no breakfast provision currently within pub, but very limited choice within the town to get eat-in breakfast before 9. Would stay again.

Where do I start…it’s like a throw back to the 90’s. If you’re going for a quiet sleep then this is not the place for you, it’s booming downstairs (Friday and Saturday) it’s like the DJ is in your room! To be fair I was pre warned by the staff. Music stops at 23:30 so it’s not the end of the world but it’s far from the beginning of it too! Rooms are very basic and a shared bathroom and toilet which is grim. If you’re on the lash and just need to rest your head then it’s ok I suppose, however if you’re looking for anything else from this place it’s limited…no breakfast… it is cheap though and there’s a reason for that!!
