A lovely pub in a great location. We only stopped for a drink so can't comment on the good but what we saw others having looked very good. A great selection of local beers on tap. We'll certainly return.
Hotel in a lovely location just outside Grassington. We were welcomed & shown to our room, which was OK but noisy. Due to the age of the building, it has noisy plumbing. The bathroom was quite small, ok for a couple of nights but not for longer or if you were of a large frame. The door on the bathroom also didn't shut properly & kept coming open. On our last night, the local cricket club had a meeting & the hotel provided them with curry, but we were kept awake until 1am due to the voices coming from the bar.
The manager here is horrible, and the service is below average, waited 40 mins for food, there was only 5 people in the place, I asked a young waitress politely how long the food will be the manager come steaming over and started having a ago at me, she coulda just left it as the food was then coming out, the fish was raw and the veg for my girlfriends roast was undercooked, the food is overpriced and it looked like it was thrown on the plate, I’m a chef my self I know how long it takes to cook food and get dishes out. The place seems to be lacking any decent management, she’s a bully to her staff, I don’t recommend avoid at all cost
Absolutely fantastic stay here. We brought our dog too, and staff were so accommodating. Food was excellent, as was wine choice (not cheap though). Only downside was the noisy toilet (can't be helped as it's an old building). Would definitely go back!
Whilst staying locally to this country pub. We visited the pub. Had a fantastic evening in there on the first night. Locals was very friendly as was the barmaid. Second evening we decided to eat there, after hearing that the chef had won an award the previous evening for his food why wouldn’t you! The food was fantastic although we nearly never had it due to very poor management! The, what we assume is an owner of the pub who in real terms is just a plain old bully! Screaming at a poor school kid who was waiting tables and then proceeded to scream in the kitchen and the staff in there! All because a pot of mushy peas went out and not garden peas! Maybe winning these awards are too much pressure on her. Never have I seen such a disgrace of a manger. She even proceeded to come out the kitchen and slate them to the customers, she doesn’t deserve to have the staff she has. We declined going there again for the rest of our stay. The two star is a reflection on the manager and not the staff
