About us

The Drapers Arms is an independent alehouse – and we hope we're providing a relaxed and sociable atmosphere, in a one room venue with a capacity for about 40 customers, to enjoy a couple of beers and a bit of chat. Now – and we know this will disappoint some people – we don't sell lager, Guinness®, beers with the word "smooth" in their name or any 'keg' beers; fizzy ciders, spirits or things like jagger bombs.

However, without a juke box, fruit machines, WiFi or television, we hope it will feel like you're just sitting in a good, old fashioned, traditional pub and, with conversation with other punters as the only form of entertainment, you'll also actually enjoy it. We do sell a few regular bar snacks but no hot food. However, you can pick up a pickled egg in a bag of crisps – known as Bristol's answer to Chicken & Chips.

Food is great if you like pickle eggs and crisps, they cater for a number of flavours. The beers are all cask local breweries and they pride themselves on the brewery not being more than 30ish miles away. The beers are all so fresh and looked after by professional beers persons. It's a small friendly place and highly recommended.

Small, local micro-pub serving local ales (also have wine). Small selection but all from local brewers and even has how many miles away and location. Great pub

Smashing micropub. Top notch real ale selection which also has the beer miles noted. Very friendly regulars who will engage in the topic of the day, mostly ale related! A must stop off in Bristol.

My second visit. The previous time was pre covid. Convenient for my game at Bristol Rovers. Good local ales from the barrel. Reasonable prices. Nice ambience. They no longer give discounts to Camra members. I thought that they did on my last visit. The only downside was being served real ale in a John Smith's glass 😕.

Amazing place with a fantastic choice of beers sourced locally. This pub has a fantastic atmosphere and welcoming staff that can advise and help you choose the beer you like. It has plenty of space inside and is nicely decorated.
