About us

Situated right on the edge of the New Forest National Park, the pub is within easy access of Bournemouth, Poole, Salisbury and Southampton. The surrounding area is full of campsites and fishing spots, making it extremely popular for dining and drinking for both locals and visitors alike.

The Churchill Arms dates back to the early 1900s and was originally built by the local farming family who first ran it.

Although the pub has a traditional exterior, there is a contemporary feel inside, with a neutral pastel colour scheme and local memorabilia on the walls. We are a popular haunt for those who enjoy pool and darts, having several teams of each. There is an open fire, garden with children’s wooden play area and veranda.

Despite the open plan layout, there are clear separate areas such as the public and sports bars.

Families, muddy boots and dogs with well behaved owners are all most welcome.

We have been guilty of passing this place on numerous occasions and yesterday we thought let's go in........and I can tell you right now we will definitely be going back!!! For a start it's got a good car park and you are instantly made to feel welcome as you enter the building. Whether you want a coffee ☕ or a beer 🍺 a breakfast or a meal they have a good menu and a brilliant specials board!! There is something for everyone and they offer a good value for money. Vegetarian options and all day breakfasts. The place is tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. To add to all of this they are dog friendly ☺️. They do have special evenings and events and I urge you to check out their Facebook page and web site. With outside seating areas for the summer months and cosy warmth for the winter months you can always be comfortable and enjoy. Brilliant customer service and good value for money 👍🏻.

Good parking, friendly and helpful staff. Good food and lots of room inside for the colder dark evenings.

We ate here twice during our brief stay in the area, and both times were very happy. There's a nice garden area, and it's dog-friendly. It seems to be more of an eatery than a traditional pub, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Great service, and decent food at reasonable prices. Recommended.

1 = poor 10 = excellent Welcome 9 Atmosphere 9 Cleanliness 9 Speed of serve 9 Attentiveness 9 Food quality 8 Value for money 10 Drinks 10 Saw an advert for this place on a bikers website as well as countless signs around the area, it was close at the time for renovation but now fully open again. I arrived just after 12 and had a pick of tables. Staff are really friendly and helpful. I seated myself and went to bar to order, went with the hunters chicken. The chicken was moist and tender with a strong cheese which wasn’t over powering with a very decent size slice of bacon. The salad was fresh, tasty and came with a lovely home made coleslaw. Meal was quick to arrive and I though it delicious, might be personal taste but the chips could of had a bit longer cooking. That said they were cooked and pleasant. The price was the best part, quality food at that price! Can’t wait to comeback and try something else.
