The Childwall Abbey Hotel is an extraordinary building in a beautiful location, the exact origins of the Childwall Abbey Hotel remain a mystery but the commonly held belief is that the original Abbey building dates as far back as the Domesday Book. The building has been sympathetically restored and now offers seven comfortable bedrooms. A stay at the Childwall Abbey Hotel offers a memorable experience, from the rumoured haunting of a 15th century ghost, to the tap room which hosted The Beatles in their former incarnation as The Quarrymen, the Childwall Abbey is steeped in Liverpool's rich and diverse cultural history.

Really lovely experience. This was booked as a stop over on our way to Cumbria Winfell. The rooms are above a public house, that said there wasnt alot of noise. The bed was huge and comfortable. The room was clean and tidy. My only issue was the noise when flushing the toilet. The staff were really friendly and accommodating as we requested sandwiches for our room rather than a meal in the bar. Extra milk and tea making facilities are provided on request. Breakfast in the morning was lovely l, though far more than expected. I had the toast with smashed avocado 🥑 with bacon and a poached egg. It was delicious, hot, and tasty. A shout out to Dave & Dan out host & chef. Thanks 👌 for everything.

Had our Christmas with grandad party there yesterday (Sunday 10th Dec 2023) Everything from booking this early this year to end of the afternoon yesterday the staff were very accommodating & we all had beautiful afternoon. There was approx 28 adults & 12 kids under age of 11. The room was set up lovely & in contrast to our Xmas with grandad last year it was amazing. Thankyou so much made our Christmas 2023. The pub is very welcoming & will book again for next year. Thanks so much the farrell family
We had our wedding reception at Childwall Abbey Hotel last night after eloping earlier in the week, and we had such a wonderful evening. Dave the manager was so accommodating to all of our ideas in terms of decor, music, food etc and Jason was super helpful too with all of our queries. The food from our buffet was lovely, all of our guests commented on it! The pub atmosphere is so lovely and cosy, and the snug and function room were perfect for our intimate party of 50 guests. We had a gorgeous evening and we look forward to visiting again and celebrating more special occasions there in the future!
I was absolutely amazed at how dirty the place was. Messy tables - asked for these to be cleaned, told ud they would be over to do it and they didn't, so we sat somewhere else and the table was covered with dishes too, so we removed them and asked for the table to be cleaned. The guy who eventually cleaned the table sprayed us too. Poor service - Took ages to get served the 3 times we went the bar. As we would go the side where the bar staff were they would go the opposite side. My partner even asked if there was anybody serving due to this. Bad customer service - Staff were not pleasant whilst serving. I get we all dislike our jobs at times, but it's as if we were disturbing them. Cutlery was brought to us twice and dirty on both occasions (see pics). I visit here at least once a month for work purposes, too and was shocked by this after recommending it to my partner for us to go for dinner.
