About us

Originally built in the mid-19th century as Ashfield House, it became a pub in the 20th. The old house’s formal gardens have made way to a large grassed open space that is popular in the summer with families.

Whether you are planning dinner with friends or Sunday lunch with family, book a table and enjoy some quality time with those you love the most.

Located between Nantwich and Crewe, guests can visit nearby Beeston Castle with its incredible views over eight counties, the racing circuit of Oulton Park – where you can enjoy adrenaline-fuelled Supercar Driving days. Whilst the fascinating history of one of Cheshire’s most attractive and historic towns is brought to life by the Nantwich Museum. The town itself plays host to a Food festival and a Jazz and Blues festival and is the site of the historic church of St. Mary’s, a must-see as a spiritual piece of history. Not forgetting Hack Green Secret Nuclear Bunker, off limits to the public for the past 50 years.

Amazing 5* Will definitely be visiting again. We pop by as a break point on our long drive home. Food was excellent. Compliments to FREDDIE and GUGU!! The atmosphere in there was lovely. Our waitress katie was attentive and friendly. She seemed like the type of waitress that would go above and beyond for her customers. Just brilliant place to eat.

Came here as I read the reviews and did not disappoint, we had a really lovely waitress Katie, amazing happy and helpful. The food was so good I had the sirloin beef, melt in the mouth beautifully cooked how I asked for and the pudding I will be going back for another honey pot! Truly divine!! Compliments to Freddie and Gugu!!

Popped in for Sunday lunch before our long drive home back to Northumberland. I had the trio of meats and my Mum had the beef. Both were absolutely outstanding. We never really go out for Sunday roast as I think I can do just as good myself if not better but our meals were really really good. The service was brilliant as well. Nothing was too much trouble. The pub was clean and welcoming. It was a very refreshing experience. Would definitely recommend to a friend and will certainly go back on our next trip to Nantwich.

Great place. I stayed at the Premier Inn next door for 2 nights. The pub doesn't fall under the Premier Inn Meal Deal/Breakfast but you pay separately at pub and its no more expensive really. Believe me the breakfasts here are absolutely amazing, great products, not deep fried sausage and cheap bacon, you can tell the difference. Much better than the usual buffets they do at most. This is the best breakfast I've had in a long time. The pie of the day was lovely too, chicken and pancetta. Service quick, friendly and efficient. Can't moan at all!
