About us

Our new pub which is out of this world. This new dining destination is part of the Goostrey community and harbours open fires, a cosy bar area, lots of outdoor parking and great local

walks.

The menu here is as great as everywhere else, with dishes like Steak and Ale Pie, our Signature Fish and Chips and Sunday roast providing all the pub comforts you'll ever need.

The neighbouring Jodrell Bank Observatory is a great day out and celebrates the work of local astronomer Bernard Lovell, the true Space Invader.

Avoid the Nut roast! Just been with my wife and son. I had the steak and ale pie, which whilst not the best ever, was perfectly ok. Our son enjoyed his sausages and mash. However, my wife was left very disappointed with the nut roast. False advertising as there wasn’t a nut in sight, just carrot and swede mash from what we could tell. The lady on the table behind us had the same issue too. Really wished we’d complained, as it wasn’t worth the money. Looked like a nice enough place, but we won’t be going back after that.

On arrival not much of a welcome, as we’d booked a table but hadn’t needed to. Busy around the bar with regulars which was good. Found a table, most seating areas quiet. Let staff know we’d booked and where we were sat, we then received table service. Waitress was friendly and honest re the dishes which helped me decide. Our choices were very nice, cooked well and hot. It was a chilly evening but none of the wood burners were lit, which would have given a little heat and atmosphere as was lacking. The temperature was ok but not quite warm enough as windows drafty.

Blown away by the Sunday roast - all 6 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal and could not believe the size (and quality) of the giant Yorkshire pudding. Veggies were fresh and tasty + meat tender. Photo with hand for scale!

A lovely meal in a really nice pub, we had a slight delay with our food coming out but this was dealt with professionally and promptly by our waitress. All the staff were very friendly and the pub was warm and cosy. Food was very tasty and fresh will definitely be visiting again

Sunday lunch. Large plates make the Sunday roast look small but it's not. Beef tasty and plenty of it. Yorkshire pudding massive! Veggies fresh. Service quick.Nice traditional pub interior - despite the name! Dog friendly.
