The location of this accommodation couldn’t be any better as it is right in the centre of Chester, an easy walk from the train and bus stations. It’s surrounded by places to eat and drink, independent shops selling unique goods and it’s only a few yards away from the market. The pub itself is full of historic character and it serves a good range of ales, beers and spirits. I stayed for a couple of nights in the cottage which is on an alleyway next to the Pied Bull and the spacious room was really comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the huge breakfast was to die for. What a fantastic stay.
Such a quaint place! Their own 'Bull' beers are fantastic, and the names speak for themselves! Good choice of ciders too. We went around Christmas time and it was super cosy and festive. Staff were friendly and efficient. Will return next time we're in Chester.
Great pub in the heart of Chester, situated on Northgate right near the town hall and cathedral. The Pied Bull is a really nice welcoming pub with loads of character. They brew their own real ale, which is excellent and serve really nice food. The service is always friendly and it's one of those rare city centre pubs where you can always get a seat, so a nice chilled pub experience. If I had one criticism it's that the price of the food is extortionate. An eye-watering £18 for pie and chips is shocking, don't get me wrong, great quality food, bit way too much for standard pub fare. All that being said, a great pub. I would highly recommend.
Lovely food. Very busy when we 1st walked in. We had a reservation and the man found a place quieter for us to sit and eat rather than being in the hustle and bustle of Christmas shoppers. Waiting staff were lovely and very accommodating. Would recommend to anyone.
We stayed two nights and absolutely loved our time here! Rooms were great, staff was friendly, and they even chased me down the road after check out when I had left my airpods in the room. High quality in the heart of the town. Everything is walkable, and easy access to the train station which is how we arrived in town.
