About us

The Cherry Tree certainly stimulates debate... many have questioned our judgement, but many more applauded our spirit. As 2021 wound down, COVID seemed to be less dominant and two couples decided to indulge a long held ambition to buy a pub! The Cherry Tree, having been renovated just before the world descended into chaos, offered all of the potential they desired. So began the adventure, to create their pub, where you can go in for a pint, but stay for five or six!.

Great local pub with a great atmosphere and friendly folk. Need to sort the chimney out before it gets real cold to put the log fire on. Didn't eat there

Lots of people in the place but loads of staff stood about doing nothing. When you needed a drink they were ready to serve you but it was just a bit strange. Singer really good and a bonus.

Visited our local pub ,been many times before and thoroughly enjoyed! Subdsy lunch and brekkie brilliant !! Heard meals had gone down hill ! But gave it a go and took friends , booked for 6.00 ,Saturday . Yes Saturday is busy, but couldn't talk for the way too loud music piped music ! , people were having to shout above the music to talk ! Meal arrived, the seasonal vegetables were tasteless frozen mixed veg, the beef brisket was a miniscule amount and absolutely tasteless, no seasoning at all! Had seen this arrive nxt to us but didn't notice the veg, the brisket sat on a mountain of mash , asked for mine reducing and extra veg to replace which they did and was a nicely cooked portion of fresh cabbage, The mixed grill , was accompanied by a very watery garlic and mushroom sauce, but tasty, how do you put this on a board ?? Asked for a plate, and steak, quite tough! Asked the choices for gluten free pudding for an adult !!! Ice cream !! That's just so lazy , so none of us had a dessert out of protest! . So many gluten free choices to buy in ! Can't blame cost of living crisis, as frozen veg is more expensive . Sadly very disappointing. The singer was flat , and wrecked every song he played and again way too loud while we were trying to have a meal. !! Left very early . Very expensive for what we had. Not value for money except the burger & chips which is why I gave a 2 rather than 1!!

Food was ok but no Gluten free sweet other than ice cream. Waitress was lovely. Veg with meal was also frozen. Atmosphere wasn't too bad until the tone deaf 'singer' also was so noisy talking was almost impossible.

Absolutely fantastic evening at the open mic night. Great music and Vocalists. Friendly, polite and helpful staff. Excellent food at reasonable prices, hats off to the chefs. Will definitely be coming back 👍😁
