About us

After being closed and empty for over a year during the pandemic and months of renovation, the old girl has dusted herself off and has now been welcoming customers, both new and old, since the doors reopened in June 2021.

When you walk through her doors you'll be greeted with the vibe of a good old village pub, plenty of charm, bags of character and dogs curled up in front of open fires; not to mention the smell of good food, and of course, a great selection of drinks to suit every taste and mood.

There is something for everyone with a tasty selection of meaty, veggie, vegan and gluten-free dishes made with local produce wherever possible. That goes for the drinks too, so whether you pop in for the great local ale, a fiery chilli chai, your favourite coffee or that perfectly poured G&T we've got you covered.

After all, we are your Free House, Tea House and everything in between.

We live locally and had been to the Cherry Tree a few times for drinks or lunch and always found it to be really good. With my husband 40th birthday around the corner I decided to enquire about the possibility of hosting it at The Cherry Tree and it did not disappoint. From my first enquiry Amy and Chris were brilliant, so we decided to go ahead. Amy was very patient and answered all my questions (and I asked a lot) we decided on the hot and cold buffet. The pub was closed for the party so it was just us and our guests which made us feel very special. The food that Amy cooked was fabulous and it made for a lovely relaxed evening, which was enjoyed by all. All the little details like the little menus for guests really added a lovely touch. So many people said they would be back and we most certainly will. A massive thank you to Amy and Chris. I would highly recommendThe Cherry Tree for private function or for a drink and a bite to eat ❤️

Always love the service and atmosphere in here. Not a chain. Well chosen beers pumped from a proper beer cellar and an excellent menu of food that's cooked to order and there's something good for everyone whether you like meat, fully vegan or something in between.

Lovely atmosphere and amazing food topped with many-many little extras which makes this pub unique and clearly shows the owners love and passion for their business.

Visited the Cherrytree Saturday 17th September . What a wonderful pub this is also being a freehouse made it even better. Nice local brewed beer and for Gin lovers local distilled Gin also a full range of drinks Never knew bout this pub only finding out when our friends in America sent us a gift card for this establishment We travelled 33 miles from our home how our friends found this I have no idea but so glad they did. Wonderful food and not your typical pub food . All food sourced from local suppliers including meat . Menu as I know gets changed often all food on the menu is made in small batches so once it's gone it's gone and its all home cooked . Food was wonderful . Sorry I never got to ask the name of the proprietor but had a good conversation about the pub history . Such a friendly and hospitable place . Its a bit of a journey from our home but will return next time on our Harley

Staff very welcoming and friendly. Good cask ales (Purity’s Ubu and Dow Bridge Acris) and a range of wines - for white wines, they have a SA Chenin Blanc, and Italian Pinot Grigio by the glass. We just came for drinks but they menu offers various sharing boards which sound very good (their food menus are on their website). They also sell delicious locally-made baked goods, such as chunky brownie slices with Mars bar pieces or Aero chunks, Blondies studded with white chocolate chips and oreos, and carrot cake slices etc. There is a nice terrace area, partly shaded for outdoor seating. The pub is also dog friendly. There is no private parking but we were able to easily find parking on the street side outside.
