Great place! Food is amazing, atmosphere so friendly. The owner's are very accommodating and make you feel so looked after. Will be visiting regularly!
We had dinner here as a group. While then menu is limited, this is to the benefit of good quality food. Nice country location, good parking and friendly and helpful staff.
Had high hopes as The Cherry Tree was a good reputation. My elderly mother was visiting with my sister and brother-in-law. We were seated next to the toilets and found the radiator was on full heat, despite the sunny day. It was by far too hot, and so we asked if it could be turned off, but there was no response. The gentleman (owner? manager?) taking the order was very jovial and good natured. We could have coped with the heat, but it was as though our order was given lowest priority, despite arriving at 12:30 when there were few tables taken. I understand there were ~40 customers from the local football club in the back, but other tables had their food served before us, despite ordering after (and similar orders). In the end, I had to ask where our food was, and then (by chance?) it arrived moments later. The pie was tasty, but perhaps it was kept in an oven as the pastry was quite black (covered in gravy perhaps to hide this). The vegetables with the pie were a little meager, and the peas cold with the fish and chips. I believe the ladies toilet was out of order, and so the disabled toilet was being used, but more so as a place for children to misbehave. It became quite a mess with sweet wrappers and water on the floor. Not good for my mother who had to use the facilities after waiting for the food for so long. My mother was too tired and so we did not have dessert, and left at 14:30. Unfortunately, she just wanted to get some rest, so it spoilt our plans for the afternoon.
We stayed last week in the Cherry Room, the room was very comfortable with lots of natural light. The mattress was perfect, gave us a really good couple nights sleep. It's not inside the pub so very quiet and detached from the main property. Finally the breakfast was outstanding adding lots of value to the stay, choose the full english! Will be back, great service and highly recommended.
The review is for the pub, I haven't stayed overnight. Lovely pub, gorgeous food, wonderful garden. Really lovely staff and overall a wonderful experience. They need a better selection of scotch, but other than that, top notch. We shall definitely be returning
