Great pub, lovely food, excellent service and friendly staff. Had Sunday lunch and Saturday breakfast. I can’t fault either. I’d love to recommend more but I don’t want the hassle of booking days in advance next time I go.
Had the most amazing breakfast here this morning. Shaun was extremely welcoming and really friendly. I have not eaten such a nice tasting breakfast in a long time. A***********

We visited this pub twice whilst on holiday as the food was so good! Staff friendly. Dogs welcome. A lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend visiting this pub. Only downside is that we live in Norwich. We wish this was our local!
A lovely stop midway for the 1066 walk between Pevensey and Rye, would certainly recommend to other walkers. The owner was helpful, room ideal (had a bath to soothe the aches) and food acceptable (though could have been a little more generous portion size...a smear of pea or five fine beans, though the fish and pork were well prepared). Would be better if breakfast were a set price for guests, and the cafetiere in the room too small for two coffees...but when these were the niggles, not much wrong!
