Popped in on the off chance with our dog without a booking for Sunday Lunch. Jess & her team couldn't have been more helpful & friendly on such a busy afternoon. Had a quick drink & then found us a superb table. Food once again top notch . Must say the sharing Chicken they do looks divine. One of the best pubs for Sunday lunch & food you'll find . Will be returning

Had a lovely meal here with family. Portions were good and food was hot and tasty. Bit disappointed that 3 of the group wanted the steak and kidney pudding, but there was only one left and the pork belly bites were very chewy. Very good value for 6 of us including drinks. Only problem is it's quite isolated.

Very good fixed price 1/2/3 course lunch with three courses at £22. Generous portions. Good starters of pork belly bites and mains of fish and chips. Excellent treacle tart with blueberry sauce and buttery ice cream. Well kept cask ale from the "Tring" brewery and well flavoured home made festive mulled wine. Wonderfully unhurried service as requested. Highly recommended.

Strange lunchtime burger pricing policy. You can have the burger from the set menu for £12. But it comes without tomato, lettuce, pickles etc. so just a plain burger! Usually lunch set menu is the same stuff but cheaper to encourage lunchtime customers. Here you get less. And would have been £4 more for a bit of salad in your burger. Veggie burger also not on the lunch menu. The waiter was also away with fairies we kept having to remind him when we’d ordered a drink.

We came here with our two children for a spot of Sunday lunch. The hardest part of the visit was to try and decide what we would like to eat, as the menu has great choices with all locally sourced ingredients 👍. Luckily I made the right choice and took the last Suet pudding of the day off the menu, as it was absolutely delicious. A particular highlight was the gravy, which was to die for. My wife selected the gluten free chicken roast which looked absolutely fabulous too. Both kids sat in silence eating every mouthful of their Sunday roast, which was generous in size. Then on to the puddings, again all great with great selection of gluten free options. All the staff where so friendly and answered all our questions with a smile. The climbing frame and sandpit outside was a great hit with the kids too. So great to have a local country pub with locally sourced food and drinks available, with an amazing outside space for the kids to let off some steam. We will definitely be coming again!!!
