Came yesterday for Sunday lunch and was very disappointed. The roast beef looked overcooked and because it was methodically sliced it looked as though it had been pre cooked and frozen. The only vegetables were roast potatoes and parsnips. We asked for a plate of mixed vegetables (hoping for some greenery) and a small portion of cheesy leaks came and some stuffing with cranberries (clearly left over from Christmas). The meal was not what we expected. Staff however were very friendly and attentive.

21.12.23 6 family members met up here for a pre-booked lunch. Excellent service ,excellent food, well cooked, good sized portions at a fair price. One of our very favourite pubs albeit a 30 min journey from home. If you like home cooked food give it a try. Didn't stay so rooms not used.

The best roast I have ever had! Lovely village pub, friendly staff and great food and drink. The roasts are great value for money and sides are only 50p! You also get extra gravy which you don't even have to ask for. They also do custard with pudding which is so hard to find nowadays. Love coming here for a great meal.

The best pub roast we've ever had! More than enough food which was well cooked. Staff were lovely and friendly and the whole experience was fantastic. We will definitely go back when we're in the area again.

Stayed in a lay-by near to this small town's entrance off the A road. Lay-by was perfect for overnight parking, some trees to separate from main road, and the Catherine Wheel was a 10 minute walk away. I notice on here that someone posted that it was the best pub food they'd ever had. We actually said that very thing when we were in the place. We wanted some crisps but decided on a couple of starters. What a decision! Food was brilliant, came out really quickly and came with a warm bread baguette, we hadn't expected, with junks of fab butter. It was really terrific. The best thing was that it was a Sunday night, when a local 6-piece band was practising in a spare room of the pub. It was the best ambience we had since going to a great concert. Obviously, band not guaranteed, but the food and service was superb in a building which is another example of Cotswold stunning buildings. I recommend walking around the town as some of the architecture is beautiful.
