We really enjoyed our evening here. The food was excellent. All the staff were friendly. Our waitress was Liv and she was fabulous. She made suggestions when we were not sure what to order, she was so friendly and helpful, most of all she was such great fun. Thank you Liv for making our evening extra enjoyable ☺
Enjoyed Christmas Dinner here last night. Glad the old Harvester has been put out it's misery. Service could have been quicker but overall a satisfactory dining experience. Very nice decor and friendly staff. Good that some of the local chavs have probably been intimidated by this stylish venue to moving on to the beefeater up the road.
We had our club Christmas lunch here and despite being 19 at table the food and service were both excellent. Portions were large, well cooked and nicely presented. This was our first visit since the old Harvester was updated and refurbished to an excellent standard serving proper high-standard restaurant food. We were all very impressed and will certainly return.
Disappointed; this could (and should) be much better. First visit, Brunch, coffees, 11.15 Saturday, 2 people, £25. Pros: Staff very friendly, attentive, polite. Interior clean, tidy, comfortable, sunny and light or cosy - plenty of choice and looks recently refurbed, dog friendly in many areas. Coffees lovely, decent portions of food. Cons: Food - despite looking good (photo) the Full English Breakfast was a mix of decent and disappointing. No mushrooms available so asked for extra toms, the bacon and sausages seemed to have been (re?)heated / roasted and were just not hot enough to seem freshly cooked, tomatoes, hash browns, bbeans and poached egg were good, but toast was cold and bread dry. Partner had bbeans on toast and decent tasty portion. Only us and one other couple in, their food arrived after ours despite them ordering first. Waiting time from order just about okay if all had been good and fresh. Would we rush back? No.
Wish I could rate it higher. Place is very nice, posh looking and great atmosphere, however the food and service quality is below average. Pricey a bit to say the least, yet the quality is not reflected in it. The half carrot that wasn’t even peeled nor boiled entirely, as still was raw in some parts, also the questionable mashed potatoes, which tasted like it was made from instant powder, the nearly £3 peppercorn sauce that looked like it was served at least a few times before re served to us also cold, the Caesar salad that was everything but Caesar with the whole thing covered by anchovies… and so on and so on. Anyway, thanks for the opportunity but don't think we will be back here for a 2nd meal anytime soon. 😐😑😐
