A pub that supports illegal activities and foxes being torn to shreds in the countryside whilst sick individuals on horseback smile and laugh. I would rather set money on fire than give it to a business who have no morals or ethics at all. If you eat or stay here you really need to go and search for your moral compass in the Welsh hills.
Stayed for only 1 night as we were watching Cardiff RFC lose against Llandovery 🙄. Lovely old building which seems to have had a fairly recent makeover. Rooms were spacious and very clean, breakfast was nice, and the beer excellent. Staff were also very helpful and friendly too.
Really loved this place. Right in the Heart of Llandovery. Rooms are really modern decorated. But the character of the old building is still visible. Staff are so lovely here. Very attentive. Stayed here to attend a wedding which was absolutely amazing in itself. The private rooms was done up so beautifully. Highly recommend this place.
Stayed here for a wedding. Staff for the ceremony and evening function are absolutely amazing. Will do anything for you, helpful, friendly and attentive. The food and catering within the hotel are brilliant. Definitely will visit for a meal when back in the area. The drinks are also reasonably priced. Room was OK. Massive size and clearly has had money spent on new carpets, a lick of paint etc. however, only downfall is missing a few features such as blackout blinds and Our room was very warm, however the British weather and a September mini heatwave is to blame! A fan is provided which was great fully received. My reason for 4 stars is for the price of the room, it didn’t feel special. It felt like a low budget room. Nevertheless, I will emphasise the hotel is great and would encourage anyone to visit if not just for the food!
I popped into Llandovery yesterday as I was camping 6 miles away. I hadn’t planned a pub trip as I was cycling and had my Jack Russell with me. Yes, he has a seat. The hotel is quite a find, it’s dog friendly and plenty of lovely chatty, happy staff. The beef roast and heaps of vegetables was absolutely as good as it gets anywhere and a bargain these days at less than £15 and they had Timothy Taylor’s Landlord on tap. You couldn’t make it up! I can’t recommend the place enough…. I shall be back soon.
