Nice pub good selection of beers but music a bit loud
02/10/23: Wainwright, was off and replaced. No other craft ale on at this time. Quite disappointed. Will keep trying. Lovely friendly spacious bar though. Still dog friendly! 17/04/24: dog friendly which is always a bonus! A great pub for watching the football. Not so much choice in craft ale (2) but really cheap and glad we came in. Leeds v Liverpool on the 2 screens in the lower seating area.
Really disappointed, the place needs a really good clean! Sticky tables with litter on the floor and dusty all over. Sad to see it like this. There was also quite a large dog wandering around on its own, no supervision, no owner in sight. Makes it not a family friendly pub Iām afraid š
Lovely friendly pub with a good choice of drinks. Too many screens for a perfect score but dog friendly, so thank you.
A large and friendly sports bar with a good sized outdoor seating area. Huge screens with BT and other sport channels. Live test match cricket was on when I visited. We especially liked the artwork around the courtyard. It's kept neat too which is always good to see. Too many pubs aren't well kept these days and I'm not surprised lots are shutting. The castle isn't one of them. Good work landlord.
