Really enjoyed the overall experience of staying and feasting at the lovely Carpenters Arms, the staff were very friendly and so helpful. The food was excellent, and having the experience of dining and breakfast, we can highly recommend that the Carpenters Arms is a great place to stay and eat.
Beautiful pub, lovely room with all you need, everywhere was nice and clean, & the staff were fabulous. And exceptionally dog friendly! Would definitely stay again!
Great place to stay. Lovely room, lovely bar for drinks. Nice touch with complimentary honeycomb and port left in the room - both delicious. It would have been good to know beforehand that the usual breakfast buffet table wasn’t available on Christmas morning so fruit, yoghurt, cereal etc weren’t offered but apart from that everything was very good. Overall a very nice festive stay.
The service and the meal was fantastic all nine of us were look after and nothing was to much trouble. Which sorry to say change after 11 o'clock we were told in no uncertain terms that it was late and we need to go Which was repeated a couple of times. As we had spent about a £1000 with the meal and drinks it would have been nice to have Finnish drinks in are own time. But as I said the food was excellent
I've stayed at the Carpenters many times over the last few years, but this was my first return for a few months. Wow. The new team seem to have completely transformed it! Both the food and accommodation were good before, but both are great. Rooms feel much more luxurious. Food was outstanding. I don't usually have time for breakfast before leaving, and it's perhaps a little odd to get so excited about scrambled egg on toast, but this was just the best ever! Already got my team Christmas lunch booked here, and will definitely be returning.
