Food is always great however went on 27/1 and it wasn’t a great experience. Ordered drinks on arrival which took a while to come, in the meantime a table near us returned pink chicken. Ordered more drinks before the main course and they never came, no one came to ask for a dessert order so I went to the bar, paid and left. So disappointing that the food is so good but the service poor
Unfortunately we didn't enjoy our experience here much. Our local Greene King pub offers more choice of food and theres more staff so your not waiting around. The food was below par, order fish that was dripping in oil and tough/fatty meat on the mixed grill. Steak requested medium/well and it came beyond well. We ordered two fish and chip meals and they looked completely different, one was lovely and thick and the other was thin. I also noticed thick cobwebs around the fixtures and fittings and it looks like it's not been cleaned in a while. The staff were very polite and attentive but not enough of them. We had to wait for someone to become available to ask for our bill. All in all I think it's a lovely pub to go for maybe a light bite or a drink but I just wouldn't go again for a meal as it was just disappointing.
Can’t recommend this place enough! Excellent customer service, food was so good and great value for money, atmosphere was spot on for relaxed catch up with friends. Well done all staff x
We had an enjoyable lunch. The food was delicious, the service was good and the staff were very helpful.
The Fox and Hounds is a really nice looking pub inside and out. It wasn't very busy when we went but still struggled to get a parking space. The service was good although there was nowhere near enough staff so they were run off their feet which made you feel uneasy. This also probably didn't help the atmosphere which was lacking. The menu was good with choices to suit most tastes. The food though didn't come up to the expectations of what the menu described. My wife's steak was over cooked and as there wasn't much fat and no juices over the top lacked any real taste and it was fairly tough. The salad was ribbons of cucumber (1 strip) and green leaves (blink and you would miss it) I had the signature burger which sounded fantastic and should have been full of flavour but it just didn't. Portion sizes were also small for what you are paying. There are a lot of good reviews so possibly the kitchen was having a bad night and we timed it wrong but overall we were disappointed.
