Hadn't been for years, so took the good lady out for tea, upon arrival no greeting or friendly welcome, asked for a table , told go and.pick your own, decided what we wanted to eat, when to order at the bar, told.to order at the area near the entrance, ordered food and drinks expecting them both to be brought to the table, after 15mins asked for our drinks and told.to get them from the end of the bar when the bar staff could have brought them to the other end of the bar to me or at least told me the operation at the point of ordering. Food OK, side salad past its best although I didn't want it, so no need to complain. Will I visit again 🤔 No unless service drastically improves, this used to be a great place but has gone downhill especially on service .
Little quiet pub just 40 seconds walk across the road from hotel. Lovely food, good portions and greatly priced. Two meals and two desserts for under £60. However staff need training on customer service. Rude, no smile, and they seemed they didn't want to be there- which made it an unjoyable experience. On the other hand, nice little pub with character. Cosy with a fire and very warm temperature.
There is a lot of seating. Order at the registers then go to the bar to save some time. Food is good. Prompt service.
True English pub with an authentic atmosphere and delicious meals. Just bear in mind, that you will need to order at the bar and pay in advance.
Let's start on a positive. Nice building and nice beer.....then it stops caramelised onions on my burger were either burnt or it was warm Branston pickle had to go back to the bar and ask where the onion rings were she said she'd bring them out I got 2 very small room temperature onion rings chips were so dry I left basically all of them and the burger relish was just plain odd even more strange I had to pay for this dross before even getting this is a place to avoid unless you want to be unsurprisingly disappointed
