You will find The Mitre in Cambridge within a short stroll of Trinity Street, Sidney Street and Round Church Street - however you won't find another like it.
Step in to discover a traditional pub of unique character, revered for its eclectic range of real ales and its quality pub food, which are served, as they should be, with a generous measure of famous British hospitality.
The Mitre, a pub of long and venerable history, stands on the site of two former inns, the Blackmoor's Head and The Cock and Magpie. The first inn took its name from Robert Blackmoor, a medieval chantry priest. The coming of the railway took away much of the river trade upon which both inns depended to the point where by 1874 the Cock & Magpie was the only remaining pub.
Went only for a few round of drinks but was great. Nice people for service and cozy atmosphere.
Great place with nice history. Great pub food, good vibes
We had lunch here and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The Mitre has welcoming staff and excellent service. Our food came fairly quick and delivered in quality and flavour. We enjoyed all our dishes especially the Steak and the Burger. To finish we tried their Sticky Toffee Pudding which was amazing; it was rich and light and the ice cream complimented it well. The atmosphere and the dog friendly aspect was great detail as well. I will definitely be back!
Great pub proper historic, great location some nice ales and bar staff really friendly I had to have the titanic plum Porter which was a great pint, some lovely comfy chairs to sit in as well cracking
I had the sausage and mash. It was the best food while I was in England. The sausage were cooked to perfection. My wife also loved her dish. It was a vegetarian pie with a pumpkin seed crumble on top. Everything was excellent about it including the crust. A must place to go to if you are in Cambridge.
