We love this Wetherspoons, cheap drinks, good food, although this evening the plates were cold and so was most of the food, which is very rare. The staff are great, especially Ellie, she's so friendly and hard working, she really brings added atmosphere to the place :)
I have never stayed at the hotel but have been in the pub a few times. The building and location are great but whoever manages the bar is incompetent. Even a few customers at the bar causes unacceptable waiting times as the staff dawdle along, sometimes two of them serving one customer. Of all the pubs I have been to, this one has the slowest bar service every time without fail. Please learn how other pubs do it. For a start, bars do not have queues, the bartender knows who is next. Stop with your "the customer can just wait" attitude and practice some customer service. I have found that using the app is easier.
Didn't stay here but went for breakfast and we wished we hadn't. Ordered eggs benidict and full English. Eggs benidict was the WORST I have ever tasted. Just horrible. Hollandaise sauce was vile, just tasted like melted margarine, couldn't eat it at all. The muffin was stale, not toasted and rock hard. I did complain to waiter who just stared and said nothing, shocking service and would definitely NOT go again. Terrible service
Didn't stay here, but I've used the pub recently. There are different levels of seating, some with amazing views overlooking the bay. There are plenty of staff, so queues go down really quickly. Lovey atmosphere with friendly people, good food and beer. What's not to like
Popped in for food and drink. I stay locally so have no use for hotel facilities. Great place to meet up for a chat with friends and take advantage of the hot drink refill station. The hot chocolate was lovely, as was the fish and chips with mushy peas. Staff were good natured and keen to serve.
