Stopped here with my boyfriend after visiting loch Achray. It is the most perfect little pub and Jason who runs it is lovely, special shoutout to Sam for lighting the best fire!
Kind small staff, cute kids they have running around too, sweet outdoor seating and cool old parked bus there.
I’ve found the best pub in the world!!! Magical setting! Brilliant, bonkers, generous, wonderful, hosts, (Jason & Sharon)! delicious pizza! cool music! Even tho they’d lost their electricity the day before they went ahead with my birthday party, with candle light, fire pits, glow sticks and smiles, making it the most magical, memorable party I could have wished for. Everyone said it was the best party ever.
Me and my wife stayed in Scotland for 11 days in our camper van we visited this gem of a place to find a couple Jason and Sharon who own this fantastic venue. The food which we ordered was made fresh and piping hot, Sharron used her outside oven to cook a fantastic pizza and mouth watering steak. Jason entertained us with the upmost professionalism that after he allowed us to stay in there car park we decided to stay three nights the place was that unique If your visiting Scotland and want a warm welcome, a relaxed atmosphere cracking delicious food come here Thank you Jason and Sharon and good luck We will see you in November
Yes, it's a quirky and unusual pub slightly off the beaten track. Check out the London Red Routemaster bus (Night route 29 to Camden!) parked outside... and yes, the hosts are welcoming and friendly. I liked the pub (having been once before around 2009 when it had a previous ownership). I only stopped for a drink and didn't eat. I enjoyed my low-alcohol cider, with a couple of frozen lime-slice ice cubes - a nice touch. But it was very pricey - £5 for a low-alcohol 500 ml bottle makes the cost of a soft drink £10 per litre! I think that's overpriced, when the average pub will serve a pint of normal cider (more than 500 ml) for around £4.50 to £5. A pity about the steep price of a non-alcoholic drink. I always expect some sort of mark-up, but this was overkill. Other aspects are good if you like rustic quirky pubs in a nice setting.
