The Butchers Arms was brought back to life in 2017 after being rescued by a group of enthusiastic and dedicated locals. Now owned by a consortium of local villagers and investors, it has been completely refurbished, extended and remodelled.
Operated with the assistance of The Proper Pub Co, The Butchers Arms now boasts a modern rustic bar, a relaxed dining area, a stylish private dining room, a multi-purpose function room and a newly landscaped tiered garden.
It has become a hub for the local and wider community, situated in the centre of the village and close to both Towcester and Silverstone. When you visit The Butchers Arms, you’ll realise just how cherished it is by locals and visitors alike.
Our drinks selection is at the heart of what we do, in particular our rotating real ales, where we like to champion the best of the local breweries. On offer also are craft beers, heritage ciders, a comprehensive wine list, and a vast selection of artisan gins for all tastes. In fact, we love gin so much that Friday evenings are… Gin Night! You’re able to enjoy food from our menus in the dining area, bar and garden. We have a full a la carte menu in the restaurant, and a ‘tapas style’ bar and garden menu offers an array of delicious mini dishes.
Our chefs change the menus seasonally to make the most of fresh, local and in-season produce, and you can even swap your excess fruit, veg and other produce that you grow at home for drinks vouchers in our ‘Pints 4 Produce’ scheme.

Just had a superb Sunday roast at The Butchers Arms. The pub was busy but the service was amazing. Very attentive and helpful. The roasts were fab with loads of fresh veg, great meat and plenty of Yorkshire puddings. My wife had a gluten allergy and was catered for perfectly with a gluten free roast. Thanks to all the staff for a great meal.
Lovely country pub serving freshly homemade meals. Friendly staff and good atmosphere. I had the shepherd pie, and my wife had pork steak. Very nice. Will definitely be going back.
Had a wonderful visit on a busy Saturday early evening, arrived to a very busy bar area, however the barman spotted me and arranged a table with a warm welcome. Great service, friendly and speedy. I ordered a black pudding scotch egg starter and a Pork rib eye with veg casserole and new potatoes, my pal, Chips and Fish, both meals perfect. I would defiantly visit again if I am in the area.
The Barn at the Butchers Arms is perfect for a big family celebration. We had a wonderful lunch for 21 people to celebrate my mum's 90th birthday with 7 great grandchildren and all the generations in between plus a couple of dogs. Having the whole room allowed plenty of time for family to gather as they were coming from all over the country and we had space for a childrens area to keep the little ones happy. Sam and Claire were really helpful during the planning stages and on the day food was delicious and service flexible, prompt but unobtrusive. It was the perfect start to a big family reunion and a memorable big birthday for mum. Thank you to all in the kitchen and front of house.
A fabulous place for Sunday lunch. I was staying across the road in Greens Norton pet sitting and walked across around 3.15 to have a Sunday roast. I chose sirloin beef and the biggest Yorkshire pudding came out everything was delicious and I finished off with poached pears and berries with ice cream the best dessert I've ever eaten really didn't want it to end Lovely place clean and well presented staff were very cheerful and helpful especially Emily calm atmosphere definitely value for money I would highly recommend this place A*
