Our 16th century Public House is situated on Lime Street in the parish of Eldersfield near Gloucester.
The Butchers Arms is first and foremost a rural pub, where the bar is the hub of life, with low ceilings, wooden floors, roaring fires and real ale served straight from the cask.
Our small seasonal menu is a huge feature of the pub for which in 2011 we were immensely proud to have been awarded a Michelin Star. We are honoured to have also been named as Michelin’s pub of the year 2016.
First time for us for Sunday lunch and my wife’s birthday with two friends . Good interesting menu. Well cooked and presented cosy pub atmosphere. The host was very welcoming and service was good with one tiny exemption in the serving of a Gin and Tonic. The tonic was added to the Gin by our server. My wife prefers to add her own. A minor issue and it did not detract from the overall experience. I’m sure we’ll go again . As will our two friends .
AMAZING! We stayed away for a few nights in October and booked this as our top find for our special Saturday night evening meal. We were not disappointed! Everything was amazing, from the welcoming staff, great atmosphere, beautiful quaint interior to the 'out of this world' delicious food.... it was the perfect evening. We love eating out throughout the country when we stay away and this is now in our all time top places. Highly recommended and we would love to eat here again. Jo-Anne you were such a perfect host and your business, food and staff are fantastic.
I was treated to this beautiful pub with exquisite food for my Christmas present. I was fortunate to have been booked in to the lovely cottage right next door too! Jo-anne was so welcoming and made us feel at ease. The atmosphere in the pub was truly lovely along with the staff that worked here. We were spoilt for choice from what the menu had to offer. I don't think it was possible to make a bad choice! The cottage that we stayed was wonderful, we were able bring our little dog too, he thoroughly enjoyed himself here too. The bed was so comfortable and we were provided with absolutely everything we needed. I would highly recommend it!
Absolutely lovely country pub with friendly staff, great atmosphere and excellent food! My duck wasn't that pink because I asked for it that way, and it was excellent. We may even consider coming to stay in their annex some weekend, we'll definitely be back to eat again. :)
Found this beautiful Michelin pub in a tranquil corner of Gloucester. The host Jo-Anne is absolutely wonderful she gave us a warm greeting and showed us around the onsite accommodation, a beautiful well equipped 1 bed room cottage which was stocked with some nicities. We had booked a table in the pub restaurant in advance and all I can say is wow the food is Michelin quality in terms of looks and tastes and the price is very reasonable we were greeted by the host and taken to our seat offered some lovely wines we went for the verdejo which was exquisite and again reasonably priced. Overall some fantastic food with premium customer service would recommend in a heartbeat
