Been here the last 3 nights as I am working in the area and am staying next door. Monday and Tuesday were spot on, lovely welcoming staff and decent food. However this evening I have been left very disappointed after being treat very rudely by an older woman with a grey bob (manager?). Whilst sat with a pint waiting for my friend to arrive I was approached and told very abruptly that I would need to move as she wanted to free up the table at which I was sat, I'm not quite sure why this would have been the case as the pub wasn't very busy and there were several other vacant tables. I explained that my friend had just arrived and that we would need some menus as we intended on ordering food, Said member of staff gave me a dirty look, disappeared and came back throwing a menu on the table and walking away again without a word. We ate 3 courses each and drank several drinks spending a significant amount of money yet the member of staff in question felt the need to scowl at me as if I'd murdered her pet budgie every time she walked past. I'm not quite sure what her problem was but we were both left confused and unhappy, I will definitely not be returning!
Staff were absolutely delightful and so acommdating. The food was delicious and very prompt, we weren't left waiting long between courses. Will definitely be back! Thank you to the lovely serving staff who made our Christmas special!
Absolutely amazing service, you wanted for nothing. Amazing staff and so welcoming they constantly catered for, cared for and made to feel important. Absolutely fantastic... they made it easier for me to be away from my family. Really kind pub/people 😌
Waitress was brilliant. It was packed but she still found us a table. Really took the time to understand how I wanted my steak cooked. Great service. Only disappointment was we couldn't add a tip on our card to thank the awesome waitress. Please allow tips Greene King!!
Went here for Mother's Day. Nice ambience about the place and great service, but the meal was decidedly average, which was disappointing given the good reviews on here. Under cooked roast potatoes, tasteless sausages and turkey, which can only be constituted as reformed meat. Won't rush back for a roast dinner.
