About us

The Bulls Head is a traditional looking pub, opposite a farm, in the rural setting of Handforth, near Wilmslow. Fairly open plan inside, there are a couple of real fires and candles are lit on the tables at night. Despite being a destination food house we also have a good proportion of customers who use us as their local. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly and we have an excellent choice of real ales and bottled products available at the bar. The food can be chosen from a main menu or unique Specials from the chalk boards which allow our Chefs to show their flair! You will be served meals which have been prepared from the freshest of ingredients and cooked to order. To complement your meal there is an extensive choice of quality wines. There are 130 covers inside and a further 40 in the garden for the summer months. The Bulls Head is an excellent choice to enjoy a truly memorable dining experience. Don't leave it too long before coming a little out of your way to try something special! Whether it's hand-battered cod & chips, the gourmet burger, or the ever-popular ‘Brewer's Chicken', now is the time to rediscover your old favourites. Make sure you try our traditional Sunday roasts with a huge a Yorkshire pudding and unlimited gravy. The food at the Bulls Head is rooted in traditional British cuisine and the chefs showcase a modern flair with the dishes they produce. The team at the Bulls Head are passionate about their food menu, so you can relax and enjoy our quality dishes and great service at this fantastic venue.

Food was lovely. Unfortunately they had run out of guiness due to a failed delivery. Toasty place with an open fire. Staff were very friendly and helpful

Just went for a drink to see the latest refurbishment. Looked good and obviously refreshed. Nice cosy seating with a couple of Roaring fires. The service behind the bar was good. The garden looked amazing and will be great sitting out there in better weather.

I wish we could rate higher as the pub has a lovely atmosphere and environment, however our first experience and probably the last isn't a great reflection of what this place could be. The waiting staff were inattentive and we had two items wrong and/or missing on our order of three people. Asked for condiments which were never brought and the waitress offered colouring which never arrived. Ended up paying for our bill at the bar as we were waiting for it for a long while and had to request the missing items be taken off. Despite this, the food was presented nicely and was okay despite the missing condiments, leaving the breakfast sandwiches being very dry. Unfortunate for a first visit I'm afraid.

First time visiting and definitely won’t be our last. All the staff were really friendly and nice - for a busy bank holiday I think they were a real credit to the company. Can honestly say the food was some of the best we’ve had in a pub, and the atmosphere and surroundings were lovely - even the rain didn’t dampen our spirits!Thank you to all and look forward to visiting again.

The environment of the pub is fantastic. We felt warm and tradition there. We ordered super club meals which are definitely good deals. So contented 😋
