A pub that is properly a pub. Keeps its beer well. Often has the odd interesting ale. Garden View direct onto Lacey Green Windmill. Dog friendly. Serves food. Plenty of parking on the off-road strip alongside the road it faces. Not "gone totally restaurant" and the better for it. We have enough Gastro pubs nearby already.
Great food, lovely atmosphere. Fern and her staff are very friendly and will give you a warm welcome.
Good independent pub at the top of the world, plus cows and a windmill
Just popped in for a quick drink , to find a great little pub with a lovely atmosphere and staff that conversed with us for hours . Great service the beer selection was good but the ales where great. Garden has a lovely view of the local windmill. Definitely stop here again when I'm in the area.
Ray’s Kitchen at The Whip! We have been waiting for The Whip to reopen with new management, Ray. During lockdown we had Ray’s takeaways for Sunday lunch and they were absolutely delicious….we have just had our first meal at The Whip and it is even better. Starter potted duck with port and smoked trout with horseradish cream. Fish &chips with curry sauce, the cod was so fresh! Venison casserole was rich and decadent. Finished off with sticky toffee pudding ( eaten before I remembered to take a picture- it was that good). Already booked for Easter Sunday. Well done to Ray and his new team, 👍 (to add, we had started eating our starter when I remembered to take a photo!!)
