Our ideal location in between Leighton Buzzard and Woburn, in our own gardens has meant The Flying Fox has catered for travellers going between these towns throughout history up until today. Although originally The Flying Fox, the pub restaurant once changed its name to The Fox and Hounds, but we soon reverted back to the old and current name.

Popped in for lunch whilst in Milton Keynes, this place is a real find. The staff are really friendly, it has a great atmosphere, and the menu and quality of the food is superb with large portions as well. It's good value for a mid-range restaurant. The place was packed on a Sunday lunchtime, lucky we had reserved beforehand. It's only reopened in September 2023 and seems to already be incredibly popular. Definitely recommended. It's part of a chain with others throughout the UK (Ego restaurants) so we are going to look out for another one.
The staff here are lovely. It was really busy when we were there for Sunday lunch but there were lots of staff who were attentive and efficient. The food was mostly very good and the prices reasonable. They have a particularly good gluten free and vegan offering. The only poor point was that I asked if there was a gluten free Sunday roast and was told there was. However it was just the usual lunch without Yorkshire or gravy. It was really dry without gravy. If they had said that is what they would serve it would have been ok. I would have chosen something else. Everyone else's meals were lovely they said.
An amazing restaurant and pub within easy driving distance of Leighton Buzzard and Milton Keynes. Would recommend booking, we booked in the morning for a Sunday roast and there was plenty of availability but when we arrived lots of tables were full. Despite being very busy, the food came very quickly once ordered and was absolutely amazing! Would definitely go back again, the staff and the food were faultless and there was a variety of dishes I was all interested in. If you sign up to the Ego Club on their website you get a 20% off voucher for the a la carte menu so that is well worth the time!
I've been here many times over the years and was over from Australia so took my three kids for lunch. It's gone downhill I'm afraid. The manager was welcoming but the staff took ages to take our order. I saw our drinks sitting on the bar for a while. The restaurant was empty but our food took 20 minutes to arrive. The waitress never warned me that my plate was scorching hot so I burnt my fingers on it moving it. They got the order wrong and the fish cake was really bland with dried up rocket and tasteless tartar. Tiny portions for the wraps. Such a shame.
We arrived & were greeted instantly. The service was great, the staff were very attentive & explained the menu. The food was absolutely beautiful, along with the drinks. We had the roasts, deserts & the lemon tart cocktail. We definitely will be going back!
