It's OK as Spoons go. We wanted food but were told it would be up to an hour wait. The guy had staff problems and it was a very busy Saturday. I did though have an excellent pint from Flacks brewery called Hedge Hop. So I had another. Very good quality and condition. It was a football game day and the many inside were all in good spirits. Cheers.
A busy town pub which JD Wetherspoon's have done well to modernise and make good use of the plot. There are plenty of nods to local history and not just Bletchley Park with the decoration. There are excellent and comprehensive disabled facilities available in the toilets, though only one disabled space in the modest car park in front. There is a typical food and drink range from Wetherspoons' with real ales changing regularly and have the business to support turning them over to serve them fresh and in good condition. Food is delivered fast and weekday lunchtimes are busy but can still find a table. There is a good sized garden equipped for near year round use at the back. Staff are all friendly and accommodating which adds to the appeal. Update Jan 2024: Continued good levels of service as described above
We visited Captain Ridley’s Shooting Party in June 2023. The pub is huge and wonderfully decorated, with a massive beer garden to the rear and plenty of outside seating at the front. The pub is full of history, with references everywhere to nearby Bletchley Park from the enigma machine to the bombe machine-inspired carpet. Live close by and visit this place regularly - food is almost always perfectly served quickly and the staff are lovely. So glad to have such a nice Wetherspoons in Bletchley, it’s really a hub in the high street. Has a fully accessible changing places toilet too, for those who need it.
Easy 4 stars. Pleasant service and the food arrived swiftly. The usual value for money from Wetherspoons. Poached egg isn't easy to get right, and this one was marginally overcooked. Never mind, well worth visiting, particularly on a sunny or dry day (started raining) to enjoy the impressive beer garden landscaping at the back.
