I must say, my experience at the £65 per person Christmas dinner was nothing short of disappointing. From start to finish, it felt like a complete waste of money. Let's begin with the food itself, which I can only describe as lackluster. It was evident that everything had been either microwaved or pre-frozen. Is this what passes for a "festive" meal these days? The main course was served cold and had to be microwaved by the poor staff who seemed overwhelmed and undertrained. How festive indeed! The starters were equally underwhelming. I could have sworn I tasted freezer burn in my soup, which is just unacceptable for a supposedly high-end dining experience. The uninspired presentation did not make matters any better; it felt like they simply threw some sad-looking dishes onto a plate and called it a day. And don't get me started on the dessert! I've never seen such unappetizing slices of apple pie in my life. They were clearly mass-produced and lacked any trace of freshness or flavor. It's safe to say that even a store-bought treat would have been more enjoyable. To top it all off, the service left much to be desired. The staff seemed disinterested , as if they couldn't wait for their shift to end. It took an eternity just to get someone's attention when we needed something, let alone receive any sort of friendly or efficient service. It truly baffles me how they had the audacity to charge £65 per person for this subpar excuse of a Christmas dinner. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone unless you enjoy eating mediocre food that has been lazily reheated in a microwave.
My Christmas dinner was cold and it was not fresh the turkey was as thick as a steak and so dry also the apple pie was not a pie it was a sponge apple with hardly any apple and it was only warm
Travelling to North Wales we needed somewhere for food. A quick 10-15 mns from M40. A very typical British pub but with a lovely fusion of Romanian food. What a lovely surprise. The food was plentiful and delicious. Reasonably priced. A lovely warm. Welcome and service. Friendly regulars who clearly appreciate the pub owner. Highly recommend.
Was passing through the village. Saw this pub and thought we should stop for some food and a cold beverage. So happy I did, good beer, good food and Bar staff are very friendly. Will definitely visit again.
First visit last night. Lovely pub, nice setting. Catered for all. The manager/owner of the pub couldn't have been nicer! Such a friendly, welcoming host. Was very quiet in there for a Friday night but still enjoyed the experience! Thank you for a lovely evening :)
