Daughters 21st I’ll be honest the legion was not our first choice of venue! but due to it being firework weekend all other options had in house events taking place on the night we wanted. The room decor is basic but clean/tidy and modern. Plenty of chairs and tables. We had a theme and a huge amount of decorating to do,so needed access to the hall for several hours prior to the party. Freya the bar manager aloud us to gain access around 2pm and although the bar and pool table were still in use by the public we did manage to decorate almost all of the room. The facilities were on the whole clean and presentable although the communal kitchen did need some cleaning when we arrived before we could use it. we did not use the cooking facilities they do have cooker/fridge/crockery to use though. The drinks even for non members are very reasonable ££ they have two cocktails on tap,but make sure you request if you want something specific as the espresso martini was not available. The bar was manned by 2 bar people and service was polite and quick considering very busy. we drank the bar dry of vodka and gin and this was swiftly replaced by a team member going out to get it locally 👍🏻 Our private Dj found the set up easy and the metered noise level good,for a small room the sound was great. They aloud us to have a firework display in the garden and have a really nice modern safe patio for you to stand on with lovely furniture and a sound system to play your music on but we did find this to not loud enough and crackly even before the fireworks started. We had hired the hall for the party until 1am and we’re encouraged to start tidying up before all of our guest had left being offered some bin bags on the dance floor was not great! so we stayed afterwards to clear up until 2.30 am , we had use of a brand new hoover but the kitchen needs more basic cleaning products under the sink and readily available. We went to collect our car the next morning (parking is very limited and we think used by local houses) and checked over the facilities with the bar manager who released our deposit. Overall a cracking little local venue 🥳 with only a few minor niggles. PLEASE consider the legion for your functions,we get the impression that unless local villagers use these facilities regularly it maybe a venue we lose in the future and that would be really sad as many legions country wide have now closed. Our daughter loved her party and we are pleased we chose the legion to host it in.

Popped in to drink and toast my late Grandfather who was an ex serviceman In 2nd world war. Lovely people, nice family friendly atmosphere. Bar lady was very helpful and full of information and chat. We'll worth a visit if you live in the area.
Wicked venue for a party, plus inexpensive at the bar! Who could ask for more?
Attended party in main hall. Good service from staff. Ideal place for small party.
