Traditional pub on the outside, tacky bar on the inside. We were quite enthused as we walked up to this old looking traditional pub but when we walked in there was an 'ah' moment. The inside is basically a bar and not a great one. The toilets were dirty, run down and just about functional. I can imagine this place was beautiful in its hey day but any character the building had is long gone. Can't comment on the food because we only had a drink but didn't receive the warmest welcome on arrival. Probably won't be back.
Booked for breakfast, strong smell of urine as you walk in but if you go to one of the tables at the back you can’t smell it. The decor is dated and basic but does the job if you’re not too bothered about that. The food was surprisingly very good, not too oily or greasy and tasted really fresh. Staff were friendly but service was nothing to write home about. Would probably go back if I wanted a quick breakfast as the food came out in under 15 mins and as stated before was nice and fresh. Improve the smell and spend some money decorating the place and it would be a 5 star from me.
Amazing place! If you are a Gin lover, this is the place for you. The food was also top class. We ordered chicken skewers with hot sauce, sausages&mash and fish pie. The food was awasome especially the pie. The flavor was mild but distinct. For the drinks, started with a local brew...followed by double Cotswood dry gin and finally finishing off with a single Whitley Neill Quince Gin. . The staff was very friendly and warm. Had a great time!
Been here a few times now and the breakfast is amazing ! Honestly stunning! Service is amazing and you're made to feel welcome! Will be coming back !
