About us

Renovated in 2012 our 16th Century pub has stone walls, stripped back beams, open fires and comfortable rustic furniture.

Our full menu is available in the bar and we welcome four legged guests also.

We serve local Ales from Vale Brewery and the XT Brewing Company, including our own Pointer Pint.

Our wine list brings together wines made with total precision and care, by conscientious producers whose vineyard management practices are environmentally sustainable.

We also stock the wondefrul and wonderfully local “Dinton Folly” English sparkling wine, with grapes grown just 9 miles away!

Our bar manager Christian Zeiss, has trained in some of the best restaurants and bars in Europe and has collated an incredible bar menu. This includes some of his signature cocktails, a vast array of English and Continental gin as well as the odd home brew or two.

The Pointer Farm is at the core of our vision, and opening the Butchers, Pub and Restaurant was a natural progression to achieve our goal of sharing with the community our love of tasty seasonal produce, and naturally cared for livestock.

From gardener to chef and every member of The Pointer team in-between there’s a common drive for offering truly delicious local food in beautiful surroundings, as well as the odd glass of something or a good local pint.

The Pointer Farm, Butchers, Pub and Restaurant are all run with a fixed eye on sustainability and clean farming. We don’t use any pesticides or herbicides in our kitchen garden, and our farm grown fruit and vegetables travel a mere mile to the kitchen at The Pointer pub in Brill.

Our award winning Longhorn and Highland Cattle are one hundred percent grass fed and our Middle White pigs are free to forage. In 2015 we added a herd of Hampshire Down Sheep to the fold; who have settled in and are thriving.

Our village pub is thriving too, we’ve exceeded our vision to share with the community our farm produce, and now welcome people from far and wide to sample our seasonal menu, fabulous wine list and locally brewed beer.

I booked a table for saturday evening, we were greeted by friendly and professional staff, it has a very nice atmosphere and the food was superb. I'm pleased to say it does live up to its reputation. I will definitely be returning I cannot comment on the rooms as we only ate there but if the bar and restaurant are anything to go by they I'd imagine they would be very well presented and clean.

What a pub! Extremely picturesque and quaint with immaculate slate floors, delicious local beer and incredible food. The service was very friendly and prompt and all the prices were reasonable.

The room was a fantastic size, with very low ceilings which added to the character of the place. The pub below serves huge portions of extremely good food in the evening and at breakfast

This is our second time staying at The Pointer. The rooms are nice/great for the price but the food and service in the pub are knock out. Emily served us for dinner and she made our experience brilliant, she was attentive, fun and couldn’t do enough to help make our dinner feel really personal. The quality of the meat that comes from their on site butcher is incredible and the decor in the pub is lovely. We had a slight mix up with our bill when we checked out but the team handled it really well. Thank you!

Went here for a special birthday dinner the staff were lovely and inviting. Dinner was really nice and well presented. Both myself and someone with the same pudding choice were both a little disappointed with it but think that was more personal preference. Really nice atmosphere. Parking is a little difficult when busy, however I manged to park down the road okay.
