Had a great meal down the Brunel today. Food was lovely and atmosphere was even better. Very welcoming vibes, although staff are busy they always go that extra mile for you. Would definitely recommend.

Our local pub, with friendly staff and always good value meals, particularly their daily food promotions. The fish and chips is a particularly good choice, every time we've had it the fish has been cooked perfectly.

Very busy, would be deserving of some extra staff. Food hot and tasty, bog standard. Very loud and tables dirty but again, they were so busy they were doing all they could! shout out to Gabby, you’re an absolute ⭐️, amazing service, good banter and a friendly face. Please give this girl a raise!

This was the first time in The Brunel, and definitely the last! My mum and I popped in on 23rd December on a whim as we were passing, I was hungry and fancied brekkie. As we were walking into the pub, a lady was coming out and said "it's bedlam in there" I wish I'd listened and just left! Anyway, we went in and there was rubbish everywhere; apparently there had been an event on that morning for children to see Santa. We found a table which the bar lady cleared for us, I had to wipe it down myself as it was left dirty and wet from spilled drinks. I went to the bar to order a Special Breakfast and a sausage sandwich, there were no sausages! Not a problem, I changed my order to a bacon sandwich, and opted to have extra bacon and hash brown on the breakfast instead of the sausages. I also ordered a pint and a half of Thatchers Blackcurrant and Apple, the bar lady said she would bring the drinks to our table. I placed my order at 11:27am. The bar was stacked with dirty empty glasses, the bar was tended to by one lady who seemed really miserable and there were people making complaints about not receiving their food... At 11:50am we still hadn't received our drinks and the bar lady was nowhere to be seen. I asked one of the girls taking food to people, where the bar lady was as I hadn't had my drinks. She told me she was in the kitchen. Another lady, Also really moody came over and asked what was wrong, so I told her I'd not had my drinks. She tried to charge me again, I had to tell her twice that I'd paid for them with my food order and was told they'd be brought to our table! We were still waiting for our food at 12:26pm, my mum asked one of the ladies how much longer we'd have to wait, she was abruptly told, it would be here in a minute! 12:40pm we finally got our breakfast! To be fair, the food was nice enough, but the service was appalling. I understand they had been busy with the children's party, but that had finished when we got there and there weren't many people left in the pub.. The pub was filthy, miserable and unwelcoming, we definitely won't go back.

Visited the pub and then sent photo and complaint to head office but still no response. Went in to meet friend at around 13.00. 2 lazy members of staff were stood listening to our conversation about flies being everywhere but no action taken to move us or even to apologise. Took photo of how bad it was and eventually left as the 2 staff members just could not be bothered to help. The table was dirty and still had glasses from the people before and was not cleared. The pub was also quite empty at the time. Absolutely vial and truly poor management to let a pub like this go to ruin.
