A thriving, friendly social club for everyone, members and non-members alike. The Bronze Sports & Social Club as we know it today was established in 1947, as a working men’s club for employees of Stone Manganese Marine Ltd, who at that time, where the largest manufacturers of ships propellers in the world.
In 1989 the club was purchased and remains totally self-sufficient and owned in it’s entirety by the members. The club has a thriving membership and we aim to provide a place where members and guests can meet in a pleasant and convivial atmosphere, to enjoy a drink and be entertained.
Good little social club to hold family functions, the bar staff were friendly and helpful.
Nice Social Club. I visited as part of celebrations for a christening, the venue was ideal. Pleasant, hardworking staff. Good selection of drinks at reasonable prices.
Nice big area for celebrations. Clean and tidy. Friendly staff. Good parking
We attended a wedding here, the food was beautiful, the function room was light and airy with plenty of clean comfortable seating. We were made welcome by the staff, the drinks prices were very reasonable too. There was plenty of parking too. Highly recommended this hidden gem of a club for future events.
I went with my partner on about six Saturdays before lockdown. We played bingo, enjoyed the acts but nobody spoke to us. Everyone stayed in their little groups, no attempts were made to welcome or include us. It was very unfriendly so we stopped going, it was not worth paying for taxis...
