Update - after leaving a poor review, I was contacted by the manager and we were asked if we'd like to return and try again at their expense. We took them up on this today and our experience has been completely different. We've enjoyed a delicious, hot meal and polite, friendly service. Thank you Tracy for inviting us back. We will now be returning in the future. 😊 We thought we'd pop out for a quick lunch and given all the hype around the refurb, we thought we'd give it a go. We waited a fair time for our food - fish and chips and a cheese burger and chips. When it came, it was all cold. Staff apologised and took it away. After another wait, our second attempt arrived. This time the chips were hot but the rest we can only say was warmer. There was no cheese on my cheese burger. When a member of staff asked if all was OK, we explained. We were told they were sorry and it was very busy and our food had come straight out of the oven. No response to the lack of cheese on my burger. We were told things have got so much better and please give us another try. Sorry but you had your chance and other than replacing our food, made no attempt to make any sort of recompense. We spent just over £25 for this so no, we will not be coming again!

Been here twice now for my birthday and my mums birthday, first journey in December 23 like a week after it first opened again after a refurbishment, & again mid January 24 and oh my gosh was just beautiful, no complaints , food , desserts drinks were lovely, Jamie the waitress on the January occasion couldn't do enough for us her service was top notch & staff have gone above and beyond each time we've been there. Credit where its due. Thanks

We found the staff very friendly, helpful & efficient. We chose our meal from the Seniors menu, which at £7.99 for 3 courses is excellent value. All courses were good & food hot. We have recommended to friends & will definitely be going back again.

Very nice place. Good stuff but meal came very cold. Had to send back to have it warmed up which was was not a good start but did come back perfect. So quite happy with what we had but would not put me off. Going back will be going back soon

This place used to be ‘cheap and cheerful’. You knew what you were getting and tables were often mucky, to the point I’d bring wipes in when I wanted some cheap grub. The offers prior to the refurb were often enough to offset the standard of upkeep/cleaning between diners. Over the years it gradually got worse and worse, to the point that after twice consecutively having them bring out mains when only half way through our starters (no point sending it back as otherwise it comes back cold) I gave up on the place. They used to like bringing dishes out when you didn’t even have cutlery to eat it with!?! After its refurbishment I thought I would give them a ‘last chance’. I wish I hadn’t. They obviously still have the same lack of common sense or poor/non existent training as YET AGAIN they were bringing out mains when half way through starters!?! This really is basic stuff. It’s not like I’m a slow eater either, I am often told how quickly I eat. You must literally start cooking the whole order at the same point? You can redecorate as much as you like but if you’re going to persist with this shoddy approach you’ll be closed in no time as I will not be returning and I doubt I am on my own with that outlook.
