The one and only Wellington in Bristol, a St Austell pub. Quality ales, food, B&B and atmosphere.
The Welly is a much-loved pub well known for providing a warm welcome and great service. Recently refurbished, it now boasts a large open-space dining room where a classic menu is served, a fantastic selection of well-kept real ales and craft beer available at the bar, and there are guest rooms to boot!.

Visited Sunday 7th January for roast dinner. Service was good from the one person who was covering the eating area, but they needed more serving staff. Especially for a Sunday afternoon, it was very slow. But worse, when we arrived for our booked table, we were told no roast meals were available as they had run out of vegetables(?!) and we weren’t offered complimentary drinks or discounts or voucher for future visit. Ended up having burgers and fish and chips as only food available. Won’t be rushing back for Sunday roast
We had a family meal here yesterday, party of 9. Plus 2 dogs. The food & service were superb. Thank you to Archie for looking after us so well and Owen, the GM is really great. 2 of our party stayed & the rooms are superb. I can't fault anything, we WILL be back.
We stayed here with our toddler and were blown away by how friendly and accommodating the hosts were. The rooms were much more spacious and attractively presented than we expected, and breakfast was great for the price. Little details like good quality biscuits, teas and coffee really made the difference. It was lovely staying here and we wouldn't hesitate returning.
Nice, welcoming local pub for a lunch. Staff were friendly and generally attentive. They were very quick to let us know what wasn’t on the menu. This didn’t matter as we still enjoyed our choices. I chose the Jaffa pudding which was super tasty! See photo. Nice decor, quiet atmosphere, clean toilets and good baby changing facilities. Would recommend :).
Lovely Sunday lunch. The Welly used to be our local so nice to pop back in and it was such a nice atmosphere and great place for a relaxing lunch instead of a heaving pub, although shame for them it wasn't busier. Service great, food was delicious, great portions and good coffee. Lots of delicious looking menu choices for all tastes which isn't often the case on a Sunday. Only negative is too full for dessert but squid starter was worth it. Would definitely come again!
