About us

We have 2 bars with 150+ rums and and an innovative cocktail list.

The distillery is home to a 500l double retort pot still and a 200l pot still. We distill Dead Man’s Finger spiced rum and small batch rum and gin on site. Our Spirit school hosts rum & gin tasting and making experiences. Our community kitchen hosts street food pop-ups & residencies. And we enjoy a social, with a calendar of arts and entertainment events.

We went to the afternoon Rum tasting and rum making class on Sat 20th Jan 24. It was an amazing experience and tremendous value for money. We stayed for a couple of cocktails after which were delicious. The staff were so knowledgeable and also so friendly. They all seemed to love their jobs and were so attentive. Fantastic atmosphere in both the school and bar. I would highly recommend the Rum school and bar. Just make sure you leave the car at home! 🙃

Me and my partner travelled for the weekend to Try the rum making experience and we were blown away. The experience itself was laid back and friendly, informative, and you have all the freedom you'd want when it comes to the crafting. The bar itself is incredible too; we stayed for a couple of cocktails afterwards and everything was delicious, plus everyone we spoke to was so welcoming and clearly passionate about what they do - we loved it so much we came back for more the next day! And it has to be said it's all priced very reasonably, as we paid much more elsewhere for cocktails that were nowhere near as good elsewhere. One of the best hospitality experiences of any kind we've ever had - can't recommend it enough and we'll definitely be back again ourselves.

Attended a rum school at the distillery and had a great experience with some friends. Great rum tasting followed by a few cocktails and we made our rum, bottled, labelled & wax sealed. Will my rum be good or bad I am unsure giving it a few weeks before I crack my bottle open. Thank Rum Distillery for a great experience! Thank you team at the rum distillery.

Distilled my own rum lastnight as an early birthday treat.. what an amazing experience and evening Jim and Max provided for us all!! After going to the Rum and Crab Shack in St. Ives, where it was founded...it was interesting to learn that it is actually all distilled here, in Bristol! .... I'm not opening my rum until at leat 6 weeks so the secondary and tertiary flavours can settle down and my primary banana flavour can come through 🍌 Can't wait to taste it! Definitely worth visiting if you like Dead Mans Fingers Rum, it is by far the best tasting experience I have ever had!

It just so happened that me and the misses were the only 2 booked on the school on the day we came and… in all honesty it was the best experience we could of asked for. As huge rum lovers getting the opportunity to ask all the questions we wanted and be afforded the opportunity to try the rums available it was brilliant to be able to do this without feeling like we were holding anyone up. Afterwards we enjoyed several cocktails in the bar and we bought some merchandise afterwards. Even though it was the general manager that looked after us for the duration of our rum making experience the staff at the distillery whilst having our cocktails were excellent! Thanks for having us! Joel and Laura
