Visited here beginning of October for Sunday lunch. It was not very enjoyable at all, the presentation very poor as though everything was put on the plate and a big Yorkshire pudding on top. It was not very warm, Roast Potatoes not good very greasy, cauliflower cheese awful, the meat was very fatty too. Quite expensive too. Service not great waiting ages for pudding too. I would probably say not one of the best places I have been to for a Sunday lunch.
It was a filthy night, weather wise, only me in there. Young guys behind the bar. Surprisingly wine racks were virtually empty, selection of real ales limited, so a pint of cider refreshed my palate instead. Bridge is a lovely old pub by the canal with loads of parking.
Beautiful pub with excellent views of the countryside as well as the canal that runs by the beer garden. Food is very tasty, but the menu was somewhat limited during my visit, with a mumber of things sold out. Nevertheless, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make conversation and help out. Will definitely be coming again.
I think I frightened the staff when I entered saying, wow, in a very thespian manner and I don't think they quite knew how to deal with an eccentric Englishman. However, the staff recovered their composure and resumed with absolute professionalism to provide excellent service. More importantly, I said, "Wow, and frankly, you will say wow. I love the place and also the chicken that followed me around whilst I fell in love with a great pub, great food, and a favourable wine cellar. Truth, it's in the middle of bloody nowhere, just 3 miles outside of Devizes heading towards Horton or Coate. (If on the main look for the brown sign saying, Bridge Inn) Should you decide to visit the Bridge Inn, you won't be disappointed. My only regret was being theatrical on my entrance but they will also remember me.
Really good vegan food, beautiful pub garden and friendly staff. Free roaming chickens in the garden, bordering the canal, dog friendly. Recommend for a quick drink, visiting with friends and family and a big night out.
