Perfect location in the centre of the village/ town. Rooms are really dated and the whole place is run down. Massively overpriced.
I don't like to post negative reviews but am really struggling to find anything positive to say, inspire hotels has left us decidedly uninspired. It may be a budget hotel but it wasn't cheap- The room was tiny, not what you'd expect for a double, it felt grubby and the floor and bed both creaked when you moved. A plug socket was covered with masking tape and you needed to be very agile to get into the bath/shower as it required partially climbing over the toilet- hence we were unable to use these- the sink was behind the door, which you could use if you squeezed in and shut the door as far as it would go- it didn't close fully. There was dog barking loudly, several times, in the room next door, and others were seen going up the stairs (love dogs but don't expect them on the top floor of a hotel). The windows had single glazing, so the noise from cars revving and youths shouting just outside went on late into the night and lorries rumbled past very early in the morning (not the hotel's fault but it added to an already stressful stay). I didn't want to stay but we really had no choice, though despite being exhausted I didn't sleep and we left very early the next morning, feeling tired and dispirited. If you don't mind tiny rooms, loud noises and are agile enough to manage the facilities then perhaps you might be ok.
Not pretty from the outside, but the room is great, bathroom brandnew, everything clean and the staff was very nice and welcoming. There's no kitchen or bar, but we knew that before booking, so not a problem. Also, everything needed within 2mins walk (8, if you want a different pub for example) Room on top floor's been a bit warm (for _our_ tastes, mind you!), but a moment of opening the windows worked fine.. price definitely fair imho, would come back ^^
This is a very impressive looking building, right in the centre of town. The solo room looked really good on first impressions. Clean and a good size as it's only a single bed room. The only problem during the days, was the tiny window. Very dark room. But as night came along, I could hear absolutely everything going on in each room. Walking, talking on phones, laughing, scratching, EVERYTHING. But the worst thing about the room, was the floor boards of the room above me. Was not a nice relaxed night here I'm afraid. Its a shame, as this could be a fantastic hotel.
I am very disappointed with our stay despite the location and the average room. It was very overpriced. This was for my girlfriends birthday and we were happy enough until our room was put next to a group of drunken men from 6pm to 1am we had to listen to constant shouting and screaming. We then turned our tv up and this then lead to them banging on our walls and doors. They were running about the hotel like children due to no night porter. We notified customer service and no reply. Staff were nice enough at the hotel however we would not recommend.
