Everytime we came to Edinburgh we have to come to this pub. The beer selection is amazing, love the sour and stout. The ambient is very relaxed and cozy, non pretentious, the staff is very helpful (I don't understand other reviews saying about bad service). The right size pub with right amou t of people, it is never crowded. I would highly recommended! Would definately coming back.
Been in a few times, never had a good wine yet, Bar people are particularly unhelpful and appear ageist , last time in we (Friday 17/11/23) asked for a recommendation for a dry white wine, “they’re all dry” ok so can you recommend a nice one and tell us the price ? “No heres the menu” sorry we can’t see the menu (we are clearly in our 50’s) the print was in 8 word font (tiny print), could you recommend a wine please, “the menu is perfectly legible” we were both without our glasses. Left without ordering avoid !
Lovely and a special place in the city near the center. Some craft beers and a lot of Wiskey brands. Easy going, nice ambiance and a lovely bartender.
A small (literally) hidden gem! Seems like a place the locals would visit. Great service and a good selection of vine, beer and whisky. A "must go to bar" if you visit Edinburgh!
Overpriced wine in small measures, £9 for 125 ml in very rundown bar. No ceiling, dirty walls, broken window, uncomfortable chairs.
