This is such a well positioned pub right on the front at Whitehaven. It is nicefully decorated with a good range of seating depending on group size 2 seater tables, 4 seater or large settee effects. Staff are very nice and front of house staff kept busy tidying and clearing tables. The toilets are on ground level so that is always a bonus to any spooners. Would recommend this pub and indeed a trip to Whitehaven for a grand day out.
Not one of my favourite spoons very busy on a Friday evening not many free tables to eat not as big as some others. Service was still decent tho and can't go wrong on price of drinks!
Food was lovely, hot and well presented. Waiting staff were ok. The only let down is the condition of the fixtures and fittings. Tables are extremely worn and seats are marked with who knows what. Wouldnt risk my knife and fork touching the table. Cup for the tea was also stained with coffee or tea so just felt dirty.
Curry good, but five bean chilli virtually a side, about a ramekin full, burrito bowl with spicy rice, courgette, onion, roasted peppers was 90% spicy rice, couldn't find any of the other ingredients I know it's cheap, but don't dress a dish up on the menu then serve half of it. Manager barely interested when half of kids meal didn't arrive. Hospitality without the hospitality
Another good pub with friendly staff and a good choice of food and drink on the menu. Very airy and lots of natural light. Can get busy but spacious. Recommended the wetherspoons app to save time so you don't need to leave table apart from the call of nature
