The staff were great, friendly and quick, even though it was very busy. The food was terrible. Meat was over cooked and the chips were overcooked. My meal had a hair And large piece of egg shell on the plate. Definitely wouldn’t recommend
The atmosphere here was warm and cosy, food extraordinary and delicious (although it was a bit of a wait for the food to arrive, definitely deserved the wait). The place was lovely decorated for Christmas and all the stuff attentive and helpful. There are plenty of car spaces in the side car park. Definitely recommend them 🤩🍽🍗🥩🍖🌲
The young man in the bar was the only person serving drinks and taking food orders. At no time did he seem flustered he did a fantastic job worked so quickly but precise. A credit to ember inns. Although he managed superbly I feel the lack of staff in general due to the amount if people in there was ridiculous. One young lady bringing out meals also amazing.
Very busy when we arrived and although they couldn't find out booking, they did find us a table. Order from the bar or on the app. A short wait at the bar and a 30 minute wait for our food. We had been informed about the wait when we were seated. Food was delicious and a nice touch was a few more napkins as we had a 22 month old. Plenty of checks to make sure we were happy. We were also thanked for our custom on leaving. A very pleasant visit.
Stopped here for an impromptu meal. Lots of reserved tables but we managed to find one free. Ordered via the app and food and drinks arrived promptly and accurately. Food was good, in the context of this being an Ember Inn, and we all finished what we ordered. We also had desserts. Although none of us drank alcohol on this occasion, I noted that the range of ales was limited to just one, and this was hardly an exciting choice.

This traditional one-roomed local on the edge of the city centre was originally opened during the coronation year of Queen Victoria. There is a small, pleasant beer terrace to one side.
