The Bowl Inn, Almondsbury

With a history dating back to the 12th century, The Bowl is a newly refurbished traditional pub and inn tucked away in the picturesque village of Almondsbury, near Bristol.

We went for my partners birthday and had a lovely meal. Staff and locals were really friendly and helpful, even when I repeatedly asked the same questions! Parking was to deal with. The food was fantastic and even had a proper children's menu with options other than your standard "chicken nuggets and chips" will definitely be going again.

Went for a Sunday lunch. The food was nice but they were clearly very under staffed. Apart from the initial first drinks everything took forever to arrive and nobody cleared our plates for a long time until we went to the bar and asked. The staff there were good and friendly but there just wasn’t enough of them to provide a good service. Unlikely to return because of this, they shouldn’t have taken so many bookings when they couldn’t manage.

What a gem! We spent 2 nights here just after Christmas. It was lovely. The breakfast selection is excellent. Do reserve though. Our room had character and had been sensitively modernised without losing its charm. The staff were all friendly and professional. The location is great ... really close to Bristol yet in the middle of a quiet village

A good place for myself and my dog to stopover on my way to Plymouth. Welcoming and friendly. Comfortable room and lovely Bramley products in the bathroom. Fish and chip supper was good but not a big choice for non meat eaters. Good breakfast with lots to choose from. Nearby field for dog walking.

I haven’t been here for a while but visited the Bowl for lunch with a visiting friend. Good amount of free parking, though we had fun with the touch screen car registration inside the pub, and a warm welcome. Loved our table as I’m partially deaf so it was great to be in a quieter section of the restaurant. The food was hot, well presented and most importantly, delicious! I would DEFINITELY have the fish cake starter again!!! The fish & chips portion was HUGE, and both were beautifully crispy & fluffy on the inside. The front of house team were friendly & attentive, and even warned us that there may be delays due to a busy kitchen. We didn’t notice the delay, it simply felt well-timed… at least for us… and the people next to us. We weren’t rushed and had a great meal and a chance to chat. Thank you!
