Nestled amid rolling green hills, our rustic Hampshire inn, rated 4 stars by the AA, offers a great location for a luxurious country escape.
Our nine contemporary cottage-style rooms are finished with indulgent touches, including Feather & Black bedding, natural Bramley bathroom products and tea trays with fresh milk, creating the perfect place to relax and unwind.
Our restaurant menu focuses on fresh fish caught in nearby gin-clear waterways and produce from local farms and estates, and we pride ourselves on being able to serve some of the world’s finest single malt whiskies from behind the bar.
Close to the world’s greatest chalk streams, we are the perfect base for a fly fishing break (fly fishing was invented on the nearby River Test). For more glamorous days out, try the Victorian majesty of Highclere Castle, the “real Downton Abbey”, or gin lovers can take a tour of Bombay Sapphire’s new distillery, which is a 15-minute drive away.

Fabulous pub with clean, comfortable rooms, crisp white sheets, Fabulous ensuite shower with lots of hot water. Fresh milk for our room - tea/cafetiere/hot chocolate. Very friendly staff. Dog friendly with lots of parking. Highly recommended!
Had our Christmas Lunch here, setting was great and service good, only slight negative was on the food side where I had the Angus beef which felt like the cow hadn't had the best of everything, as meat was a bit tough.. Other than that everything thing else was great.
When we booked we were told there was disabled access. When we arrived this was not the case. No body offered to help us gain access. It was very poor. We also booked the large table in the room we were given this table. The food was very poor, it was quite cold and the roast beef was very fatty and chewy. Not good as quite expensive.
Popped in for Sunday lunch! Food was delicious! Beef and the pork was done perfectly! Plenty of veg. And the portions were very generous. Plenty of food and drink options And the Bourne Valley Inn was a beautiful place, very rustic! With plenty of country charm. Staff was very helpful. And dogs are welcome.
Absolutely lovely. The seating space outside is vast, pretty and comfortable and inside is even better. We arrived just after 8pm on our way from Cornwall to London having found the BVI online and decided on it for dinner. We were seated quickly and with no issue by the absolutely great and friendly young staff who were so welcoming to us and our dog. Despite the kitchen taking last orders at 8.30pm we were able to have an absolutely delicious and outstanding value three course meal. Everything was perfectly cooked and the faggots were especially good. Couldn't fault anything really. I hope we have cause to come back this way soon.
