Beautiful gem of a pub located along one of the best roads in the country (A39). Take the toll road from Porlock ( don't forget your £3). Great beer, food... Roaring fires in every room. Can't ask for much more
Beautiful country type pub lots of areas to eat depending on needs , outside and inside eating, we picked a area called the snug , nice two seat setup by the fire 🔥 and more private , there are options to eat in the restaurant, pool table area too if that's your thing, the food is very well priced with what you get , the staff are very friendly and happy to attend to your dietary needs and questions Very close distance to visit Lynton and Lynmouth Great for staying and walking over the close local trails Keep up the great work Enjoyed the visit
We had a lovely stay here! The staff were excellent, so friendly and bubbly. Jake checked us in, which was very welcoming and a great start to our stay. We were upgraded so we got a lovely view of the valley. The steak and ale pie was very tasty and so was breakfast. Relaxed atmosphere in the pub and very homely with all the fireplaces they have.
Our family had travelled from various parts of the country to meet up and have Sunday lunch - and it was excellent. The food was superb, very tasty and plentiful and a good range of items to choose from on the menu. The Sunday roasts were great! The staff were friendly and attentive and everything was served promptly. We hope to be back soon.
What a lovely place. Recommended to us and they def weren't wrong. Nice warm greeting on arrival and very quick, pleasant service. Staff very polite and attentive. Good selection of beers. Was difficult to decide what to order off the menu as it all sounded so good, but eventually settled on lamb shank for me and chicken breast for my wife. We weren't disappointed. Tasty fresh food served piping hot. Then a dessert to top it all off. Only slight downside was the cheesecake hadn't quite set and was a little softer than I would have liked, but still very very tasty. The final bill was also a very pleasant surprise, with the prices being extremely good value for money. Would definitely return here again.
