It’s a great atmosphere and really cute decoration. They have great local beer. Unfortunately, I had a dirty glass which was exchanged of course but still doesn’t give you a good feeling. The food was okay, but I wouldn’t eat there again specially for the price. I don’t think it is value for price. Would I come again? For drinks for sure, for food no.

Beautiful atmosphere along the thames and very friendly service from bartenders Alfie and Sy. We didn’t try the food but the drinks were great and warmed us up!

A true gem in the heart of Hammersmith, the Blue Anchor is a welcoming haven that perfectly captures the essence of an English pub. From the moment you step through the door, you're enveloped by a warm and inviting atmosphere, with traditional décor, exposed brick walls, and a friendly buzz that instantly puts you at ease. Our visit was a prime example of the pub's exceptional service. Despite our oversight in not confirming our reservation, the staff handled our situation with grace and professionalism, finding a table for us within minutes due to a last-minute cancellation. The Blue Anchor's menu is a testament to its status as a classic gastropub. We indulged in their signature dishes, starting with the braised beef with bourguignon sauce, which was melt-in-your-mouth tender and infused with rich, savory flavors. The cheese mash potatoes served alongside were a delightful accompaniment, adding a creamy indulgence that perfectly complemented the beef. My girlfriend opted for the classic roast dinner turkey, which was a towering spectacle of culinary delight. The turkey was cooked to perfection, juicy and succulent, while the cranberry sauce brought a burst of tangy sweetness that balanced the earthy flavors of the roast potatoes and carrots. As we savored our meals, we couldn't help but admire the pub's enviable location right on the banks of the River Thames. The ambiance was enhanced by the gentle lapping of the water against the riverbank, creating a tranquil backdrop to our dining experience. The Blue Anchor is a must-visit for anyone seeking a taste of traditional English hospitality and cuisine. With its warm atmosphere, friendly staff, and exceptional food, the Blue Anchor is a true gem that will leave you wanting more.

I discovered this pub on my last night in London, and the Blue Anchor did not disappoint. I ordered the fish and chips and their soup. The portions were large and very tasty. The pub was busy, both inside and out, yet the servers never kept us waiting. It's a great little hidden pub. It's definitely worth the trip.

Great location right on the river, although you can't see the river from the tables as the wall is so high, but pleasant enough for people watching. Would recommend leaning against the wall for a view of both. Went inside and ordered two roasts. Huge portions but was a flavourless huge portion. All the Vegetables were cold(potatoes were a massive disappointment), the beef was cold and chewy, the pork belly was the only redeeming feature, but was served with no crackling!! Took one bite of the Yorkshire and left the rest. Although My partner had the vegan option and she enjoyed the mushroom and sweet potato pastry. But the same complaints about the rest of her dish. And a princely sum of £61 with two drinks.
