The Blacksmith’s Arms has been a traditional Island pub for more than 400 years.
The pub is located in the heart of the Isle of Wight just outside the village of Carisbrooke.
The pub is more than 400 years old and benefits from panoramic views stretching across miles of open countryside to the Western Solent.
You can even enjoy these breathtaking views whilst sampling our menu in the restaurant.
We have an extensive a la carte menu and daily specials board with locally caught fresh seafood to include crab, lobster, shellfish and fish.
There is also a vegetarian menu and children's menu.
Our wines are selected from around the world and we keep a good selection of continental beers and real ales, which of course include our local Isle of Wight breweries.

Visited this pub last Sunday for a Sunday roast and felt bit disappointed that they didn't do roast chicken, only beef n lamb, however the nice waitress said they could serve the chicken breast from the main menu and plate up with roast potatoes, veg n gravy. I would have preferred half a roast chicken, hence the reason for a 4 star rating instead of 5, but still really enjoyed the meal and the staff were lovely and attentive. Will be returning if I can get a table at a time which suits but it seems they get booked up so think you have to book early
This is a pub worth visiting, especially for the unrestricted views over the Isle of Wight. Unfortunately it was raining so hard that the view was non-existant. The pub itself made up for the loss by providing excellent, friendly service, a menu that is a mix of standards and some inspired plates, beautifully presented, and excellent beers.
Lovely place to dine, for any occasion. Excellent quality food, beautifully presented. The views from the windows were stunning on a very cold but clear crisp winter's day in January . You can even spot the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth in the distance.
We went on Saturday evening 09.12.23 with a group of 8 for Christmas dinner. All of our food was presented well and ate even better. Special mention for the Turkey dinner and wonderful mince pie served after the desserts. Such an enjoyable experience we've booked again for next week. Well done the Blacksmiths team.
One of the best places to eat on the island. The food is delicious and well presented and the portion sizes are great. Service is always very good - the staff are friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is also nice, with the place being surrounded by beautiful views. There is also a little play area for children, which is always a bonus to have. The only downside is the parking, which can be awkward at times. The car park isn’t fantastic and, obviously, because it is popular it can be difficult to get parked. The food and service is worth it, though!
